For
our pinto breeding programme 'Magic' has the added bonus of being tested homozygous
for tobiano, which means she will produce pinto offspring every time, even to
a solid coloured stallion.
We
are delighted that 'Magic' has been 'upgraded to mare status' proving herself
as the valuable broodmare we hoped she would be, by presenting us on Good Friday
with a small, refined bay pinto colt by Uno Tom Thumb. The foal will shortly be
DNA'd to find out if he too is homozygous, like his dam, which would make him
an extremely useful stallion in the future.
